The current series of guitars by Tagima, Brazil, does not really get us excited (it's way too Fender-y) so it is by accident that we run into this older, much more exotic superstrat model on eBay. The pink metallic onion shape with those long horns grabs your attention right away, and then you notice the reversed headstock and you're hooked! The seller turned out to be a Brazilian who'd moved to the UK but who had once been taught the guitar by Kiko Loureiro, who helped Seizi Tagima design this guitar. He told us a bit more about Tagima and it seems the company grew too fast for its own good: foreign investors came and the guitars were no longer manufactured locally, which implies something about the quality. Tagima sold the company and the name and these days, metal fans are definitely not their target audience. Kiko has moved on to Ibanez but his last Tagima signature clearly shows similarities to the Zero.
