And just when you think you know most Jackson models, the Kelly Star comes along. The Kelly Star has the top of a regular Kelly and the bottom of a Randy Rhoads, as if someone put the designs on top of each other and thought "let's try that!". Well, we like it! But we might be the only ones, because the model was only made in 2000 (Japan) and 2001 (Korea). This one is from Japan. The overall form also reminds one of the Warrior of course, but at the same time, it's very different. The bevels and lines are clearly taken from the Kelly, and where the Warrior is curved at the bottom from the left point to the right, the Kelly Star has the Randy Rhoads angle.

Although, or exactly because, we love this guitar, it also pains us very much: it was treated so badly in transit that one of the points came off. The seller didn't protect it very well and then it just takes one careless mailman to break your guitar and your heart. What makes it worse is that the guitar was still almost new and unplayed, which is a mystery in itself because it is an awesome guitar with jumbo frets and a very playable neck.

We decided to upgrade the pickup rings to our favourite chrome kind and they go great with the Deep Cobalt Blue.
